Used Tranny Service Prior to Instalation
I purchased a used transmission from a forum member for my 88' 300TE and am going to install it this week. Can someone give me some advise as to what I need to do to service it prior to installation, i.e. filter, gaskets and seals. I don’t want to rebuild it, but if there are simple items I can replace when I have it out I’d like to know what they are. These would be things a weekend wrencher could accomplish without any great knowledge of transmissions
Thanks! MB300se65 |

If there are signs of external fluid leaks, replace the offending o-ring(s).
Other than that simply perform a trans service...fluid & filter

I would also replace the modulation valve.
