flashing air recirculating Switch

Hello out there,

My air conditioning goes out every once in a while the symptoms are;

1. Fan stops working

2. air recirculating switch flashes red no matter what button I push.

3. After I turn the car off and restart, it acts normally.

4. Additionally, a few months ago, I had to have the system recharged as it was completely empty last time the AC went out with the same symptoms

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I believe it's a 1990 420 SEL, for those who are wondering...

Hi,

Yes it is a 1990 420 SEL, thanks Brewtoo. I actually went out and started the car a couple of hours after I posted the question and everthing was back to normal. I read the owners manual and it says nothing about a flashing red air recirculating switch.

thanks

Usually that's in indication of low voltage.. You might check your alt. output.
