How do I get my euro '85 500sl insured for what its worth
I looked at my insurance card recently and noticed it was listed as a 500sec instead of sl. I called the insurance guy and said his car does not pop up on the list because of grey market, so he has to list the car differently. Im curious if other people with euros have run into this problem/ advice. This car has been in the famliy since new and would hate to not get what I deserve if something happened to it.

Insurance
I have mine insured though American Collectors Insurance. You simply tell them the value of the vehicle and pay premiums according to that stated value. You'll need to provide a couple of photos as proof of condition with the application. Note though, they limit your usage/mileage and you're not supposed to use it anything like a daily driver.
The major insurers will sometimes write a special policy based on its value after they have a 3rd party appraiser look at it. This is the high dollar way to go though. Regards, Kevin

No VIN issues with my 1983 Euro 500SL - I have it insured as a collector car for an agreed value.
