300 CE ( W124) will not run when hot

need help here, car starts from cold , as soon as it gets to working temp 80-85 it cuts out and will not start untill cold again, Fuel pumps and pump relay have been changed, could it be the crank sensor or something else?

Coolant temp sensor ? This sensor sends engine temp info to fuel injection computer and the ignition computer to adjust air/fuel ratio and timing respectively. On my 87, 260E, this is the last sensor on the engine, closest to the windshield. The resistance should be 2.5 to 3.5K when cold and should drop to between 250 and 350 ohms when engine is at 80 degC. The exact values may be different, but the resistance should drop by a factor of 8 to 10 when the engine temp changes from cold to 80 degC.

Also check that the thermostat is not causing any shorts.

Check for fuel leaks anywhere, you are looking for fuel smell under the hood, there should be no smell.

Check that the fuel suction hose between tank and pump is not leaking or kinked.

Could be the coil. Do you have a nice blue spark?
