'98 CLK320 fuel pump and aux fan
I am having a strange problem with my '98 CLK320 type W208. It has intermittently switched on the aux fan and the fuel pump. It would happen with the car off, sometimes being off for many for hours. I replaced the fuel pump relay in the trunk, and reset the computer (disconnected the battery) and it seemed to be fine. It acted up again, and now the only way to get the aux fan and fuel pump to shut off is to remove the fuel pump relay in the trunk. Also now it will not start, it cranks and fires up, then stops immediately. I may disconnect the battery to try and fix it temporarily. Anyone have any ideas, or is my car haunted?

Wiring short
As it turns out, after my mechanic spent hours tracing the problem, it was a wiring short where the wiring harness was routed over the rear passenger side strut mount. Anyone else have a similar issue? Was this a design flaw with the car? Wound up costing over $500 to fix it, all labor hours to detect the problem. I wonder if Chrysler had their hands in this...
