1986 300E a/c and Auxiliary fan not working, and shift flare...part of same problem?

Ive been digging for a while now and keep finding bits and pieces, but none of it is what i need.

My 1986 300E has quiet a few problems, but i think they are all connected in some way.
1)Major Flare in all shifts, worste in 1-2.
2)Auxiliary fan doesnt work, overheats when sitting but is fine while driving
3)A/C doesnt blow cold air. (Said it worked before it sat for about a week, then no more cold air when I bought the car)

We have replaced the ATM filter and fluid, but so far thats it.

Question 1.
Where can i find a vacuum diagram for my car?
From what i have found, it seems like a vacuum problem but i have found plenty of diagrams for other makes and models, none for mine. I would like to check this first.

Question 2.
Are these actually connected in some way?
I think that there is a connectino from the auxiliary and the A/C, and their are vacuum controls for the shifting on some cars(But again, couldnt find anything on mine)

Question 3.
What else could cause this kind of flare in all shifting.... ill recap what happens in detail.
--In D. it flares badly if pushed pretty hard, and wont shift at all if floored in first and second. third flares if floord, but not as badly. If i dont push it really hard then it still flares a little and rubbernecks on the shift, and i have to ease up off the gas to let it shift. If i drop it down manually, it doesnt shift unless floord, but when floord it shifts very well.

Question 4.
Where is the best place to order a manual for my car, ive looked around and mainly could only find CD's, wich i dont like. I like having an actual manual. Although i will probably use the CD's if i have no other choice.

A vacuum leak would make your trans shift harder, if anything. It would not make it slip.

There is a vacuum modulator on the side of the transmission that controls the shift firmness. There is a cable from the throttle that tells the trans when to shift.

The aux fan has no effect on the trans shifting.

The aux fan could result in poor ac performace when stopped but the ac should works well at when moving.

I doubt you have a global vacuum problem.

heh.. maybe i should pop a hole in the vacuum line then

Ill have to check the vacuum modulator when i get the chance, but the timing is right. it just over revs, almost like a downshift, when it is supposed to shift. (as in, steady increase in RPM, gets to point where it should shift and over-revs bad).

A/C blows warm air when on cold, and Hot air on Hot. dad thinks its out of R12, so i bought all the stuff to convert it the other day.... and now im finding info saying that i shouldnt convert it.

think it might be an electrical problem? ill have to check the fuses again, but i checked them the first time, didnt fix the prob. but could it be something witht he wiring?

Thanks

Is the compressor running? Ever? At all?

And don't convert it, IMHO.

transmission fluid level is great, after and before we changed the filter.

Today i had a much bigger problem though...

Power stearing went out, gas pedal didnt seem to respond to engine at all (felt like it went into neutral) pushed it down into 3rd and 2nd to see if Drive messed up. RPMs reved in 2nd, no change in gas response.
Pulled on side the road, restarted car. works fine.

compressor kicks on when i turn the A/C on. why not convert it?

-_- bought the car cause it was a doctors car, engine just as clean as a new car off the lot. of course everything goes out now...

If the compressor is running, get some gauges and check the pressures.

Odd thing happend..

went to a shop down the road there were good friends with. went to fill up with 134a, apparently it has allready been converted -_-
waited a good while for it to fill up, but nothing happend... he checked it, it was full of freon... *slaps head again*
i found some vacuum lines and pushed them in just cause i know they wiggle out sometimes...
start the car, Everything kicks on.... Cold air (50 at vent), auxiliary fan kicks on, even shifts alot better (but still a SMALL flare sometimes).

so yea... check your vacumm tubes boys and girls before anything else...
now ima have to find a diagram of the vacuum system, run through it all. replace cause i know its cheap, and it should all work... "should"...

although now i wonder if when it died on me today, did something get reset? its like a whole new car now... hard to beleave it was just a vacuum that was barely loose.

Thanks again everyone
