Aux fan temp switch location

I am new to the Mercedes wold. Used this forum to help find what I was looking for and ask the right questions.
I've got a 1997 SL320. That means R129, correct?

I see a lot of talk here about making the auxiliary fans run more. My issue is that both run on high all the time. If I turn the key on but do not star the engine they both run low (AC on or off). Once start the engine they both run high (AC on or off). From reading here, I've gathered there are two switches to control this. One AC high pressure switch and one water temp switch. I have found the AC switch. If I unplug it the fans do stop but the AC does not work either. I am having trouble locating the temp switch.

Question:
1. Thoughts on what the problem is?
2. Where is the High water temp switch / sensor?

thanks
great forum!
