Climate control illumination out 1999 320E

I have no illumination in my climate control at night when running lights. Is it something a layman can do? Thanks by the way for the respnses I recieved on instrument cluster removal. Learned to post one question at a time. This current question was a part of my original post.

First you need to remove the wood surrounding the climate control. Once removed you may see two small light bulbs that can be removed using a slender walled plastic straw or rubber vacuum hose. Sometimes these light bulbs are covered with electrical tape or small strips of foil.
