Has anyone tried replacing the steering coupler and/or adjusting the steering free play in a 124?
I've a new coupler a couple of months now and I'm just wondering about the level of difficulty. Could this part really be worn enough to cause a noticeable looseness after 10 years? I've also looked at the steering box and it looks almost impossible to adjust free play without removing it due to the difficulty of getting to the adjustment on top. I'd appreciate any thoughts and the procedures if someone has them. Ken Fuller 1990 300E 145K Miles |
