Rear suspension

1987 260E
Does anyone have a picture or diagram showing the position and correct names of the rear suspension arms/links. The Bently 'bible' calls them push bars or pull bars etc.
I need to know the name/part number of the straight link that goes from the wheel carrier up and toward the front of the subframe.

Thanks
Michael

Michael - just call Phil (click on "buy parts" above). Note I've purchased almost all of my heavy parts from him, and he often just sends them from MB dealers around the nation that are willing to compete for your business.

As far as the actual part#'s and names, he'll have that also. There's all sorts of stuff down there, lowers, uppers, control links, stabilizers, ins, outs, push, pull, down, up, bushings, bearings, hydraulic bushings, hydraulic struts, on and on.

A word of caution - be VERY careful fooling around under one of these cars. Springs that aren't compressed right, lifts that slip, hitting fingers w/hammer, tension on parts that release in your face etc are all too common. I rebuild 119s for a hobby, but it's also not uncommon for me to take the car to the dealer for subframe work. They're just geared up for it. And it's really handy when I guess/replace the wrong part. If they do it then it's on their tab - good luck to you
