W210 alarm problem. Please Help!
I have a '96 E320 W210, the alarm always goes off whenever I open the door. The remote does not open the pneumatic door locks and neither does it deactivate the alarm. The keys when used on the driver's door only opens the driver's side, pneumatic locks still don't work and the alarm seems to be always activated. However, I can still start the engine with the keys but alarm still sounds. How do I reset or disable this? The car seems to think that it's being stolen all the time or being hot wired. Help please.

First replace the battery in the key and see if that helps. It powers the door lock transmitter.
Do you also have yellow/green (?) flashing lights on your rear view mirror?

Unlocking the driver's door with the key should turn off the alarm and unlock the other doors, just as if you had used the IR remote.
Clearly something is missing the signal. Since two functions of the module in the PSE seem to be malfunctioning (IR receipt and door cylinder switch), it would point to this part. Of course, try new batteries in the remote. Also try the trunk cylinder. |

Alarm problem gone but.....
I was able to disable the alarm by first inserting the master key in the ignition and placing it in position 2 and depressing the remote. Now nothing works with the remote, I mean for 1) The doors do not lock/unlock with the remote. 2) The trunk does not open when I press the remote twice. 3) The alarm does not engage anymore with the remote or keys. Is there a process that I need to do?
