Stalling problem revisted
Stalling problem PLEASE HELP
Well after a month of poking around I still havent gotten to the bottom of it. I have replaced this following items: -MAS -OVP -Coolant sensor I have tested many items in the CIS-E system including throttle valve switch, mass airflow sensor etc and they have all checked out. I am now looking at battery side of the engine compartment now since everything on the right side of the compartment has checked out. I've been at this for at least a month and still havent found a solution to the problem. PLEASE HELP!! |

I read your original thread. Did you check all hoses, especially to and from the Idle Valve. If the hoses are in good shape, remove the idle valve and and check the condition of the in and out ports. If needed, clean it with carb. cleaner.
If it is clogged up it will stall the engine. If the flap inside is open too far, it will cause a high idle. Just a thought.

Did you check for vaccum leaks ? Spray some carburettor cleaner at the intake seals, fuel injector seals and other places where rubber vaccum parts (hoses) are. If there is any leak, i.e. unmetered air getting in, the rpms would change. If you replaced the coolant temp sensor and if the wiring harness is o.k., it is more likely to be unmetered air getting in from somewhere. Have you checked the oxygen sensor also ? It must be producing a changing voltage, if you see a constant voltage coming out from the oxygen sensor, either the feedback system is broken due to a broken cable or the sensor itself is bad.
