2002 E55AMG ABS/BAS/ESP Common Mode Failure
OK, this happened for the second time today since I bought the car in March. The alarm for ABS, BAS and ESP failure came on, cruise control didn't work.
Shut the car off and re-start, no warning alarms, cruise functions, all is well, no malfunctions reported. Same thing happened about 1 month ago, same scenario, turn off, restart and all is OK. It happened while braking both times. When failure warnings are illuminated, pressing the ESP on/off nothing happens either. Any help identifying what may be failing that would cause this common mode of failure is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Glen |

Still using the factory battery? About time for it to fail. Low voltage sometimes causes the sensors to lose communications resulting in phantom faults.

Still original factory battery, if this happens again, might be time to change it. Thanks.

brake light switch, use only genuine, common problem.has more than one circuit and has to tell computers when you have released the brake pedal hence the abs, bas, esp lights which are all tied together.
