Independent Fog lights

How can I get the fog light to turn on without turning on my headlights on my 1983 W126 300sd??

You have to put a jumper wire on the headlight switch to do that.

In some states that is illegal

Try a search, maybe in the diesel section. Someone did it by moving the fog light wire inside the fuse panel. Disconnect the battery first! If I recall it involved moving the orange wire? (fog lights) from the headlight fuse (#13?) to the running/turnsignal fuse (#6?) Check a wiring diagram as I'm not sure about the color of the wire or the fuse numbers while sitting at the computer.

Yes, hitwtom , I know. That's the exact information I was looking for. I searched and searched for a few days with no luck here. I found one guy that did it to a W123 by searching google, but I am not sure if my car,a 1983 300sd, shares the procedure. Before I go tearing into my fuse box, I want to make sure I have all the correct info.
