CLK cab flexable flyer?

I got a few hours worth of wheel time on a 2007 CLK550 last week, with about 5k miles on it. What really got me about it was the way it flexed, which I considered to be quite a bit for a $70k car. I drove it over some of the same roads that I drove a Porsche Carrare over a few days before, and the Porsche felt much, much stiffer, like a solid chunk of metal.

Is this commen for the new CLK's? Did the old CLK do this? I have to say I'm disapointed with MB, I would expect it to be world class, not a Chrysler LeBaron.

Unless it was an AMG version, comparing a CLK with a Carrera is like comparing apples and oranges. Even if it was an AMG, the Carrera still has a much more "solid" feel. Even though the CLK has a sporty look to it, it's really just a cruiser compared to the Carrera.

In a straight line the CLK is probably faster though. Damn that V8 pulled.

The 7spd is to damn busy, but that V8 is sweet!! Bolt a 722.6 up to that engine and MB would really be onto something!

I don't know about the Cab, but the difference in solidity and ride comfort is quite noticeable on my dad's 06 CLK500 coupe vs the old 02 CLK430.

I was surprised because I have driven a number of R129's and they are a very solid car.

After driving it I would never buy a CLK Cab, I'd buy an SL, IMHO its an all around better car.
