CLK Convertible Window Question

Hey guys! I found a nice used 2000 CLK 430 convertible. The passenger side window is fraying the top canvas where it strikes the seal. Aren't the door windows supposed to drop about an inch when the door handle is pulled to prevent this?

Yes. Mine does. And so did my R129 when I owned one.

Windows may need to be resynched perhaps?

My 2000 clk 430 cv does the same thing, windows do not retract slightly when the door is opened. How do you resyncronize the windows? Thanks!
