I've got a '90 420 SEL and when the car is off, I don't get power to the cigarette lighter. Is this a common thing on Mercedes? I want to be able to use the power when the car is off, is there a way of connecting it so I'll get power when the car is off?

Power is only on when the key is in #1 or #2 position. Hard to rewire because of access, but the radio has power all the time. Thick red wire.
