Possible Air Inject Valve Backwards?
I think the green & yellow plastic valve is called the air inject valve?
I have heard its a one way valve. Most that I have seen flow from lighter color to darker color. Not sure of that. My question is should this valve be reversed to have green closer to intake side & yellow more toward distrib side? Does the air flow into the intake here or away from the intake? Sorry, I really am trying to learn engine mechanics & help get my old car straightened out. I would assume it being an air intake that air would flow into it. So its possible that this valve being backwards would essentially stop any air getting to intake & its a quad connected to WUR & distrib vacumn & it really should be hooked up right... Thanks...

Bump
I have never even seen one of these so as to get a replacement
Not even sure what it is or what its for but that aside Any MB Docs know if this is backwards Should I blow in it & see which way air comes out??? Does air go into the intake manifold port there or come out? Guess would be in... I;'m trying... Thanks

could cause weird idle & hard start?

Your's is on back to front. White side faces the intake manifold. . So its not restricting idle if its backwards? then maybe thats why idle is hi? Would it being backwards also screw up driving idle & perhaps even hot start? Why dd my mechanic say its on right? So its supposed to restrict how is it actuated? how does it determine idle or full throttle? Its an open intake port I guess I don't really understand how its supposed to work to be able to figure out which way the air should flow. So would you want the air flow on that valve to flow away from the intake or to it? I have to takeoff the air assembly to check it thats why I wanted the mechanic to do it as he had the assembly off He told me it was right If its still backwards maybe thats why when its hot its hard to start as idle is restricted? Got to get this straight!

Help...Someone please
Well its out
& is was not a enjoyable easy job Now I;m blowing in the darn thing trying to find the way it goes but it seems to be blocked both ways???? Help I'm turning red about to faint from all this blowing Does it fill up & then slow? think its easier to blow from yellow to green way... How would this be fitted to intake blow toward or away from intake Which way is the air supposed to go from a port in the front of the intake\ thats also tied into the WUR & dis vac???
