Hi,

I have this weird problem with my fuel filler flap. Usually when I open the door or unlock the door the flap is easily openable (wonder if thats a real word). This would be the normal routine....when u unlock the door all doors (doors/trunk/fuel flap) opens.

Lately it refuses to open up and in order to fill gas I must manually release it via some cord in the trunk. The weird thing is sometimes it works properly and sometimes I have to manually release it. I'd say the ratio is currently 80% via the manual release way.

Anyone have ideas as to what is causing this annoying problem and how to resolve it?

You should replace the vacuum element. IT is located on the other end of the cord you are pulling on.
