Transmission oil pan bolt torque

I am going to yet again try to replace the pan gasket on my 1986 2.3-16v W201 automatic transmission to stop the fluid leak. This last one took about 4 months to leak. Can someone give me the torque spec for the pan bolts so I can try to get it correct this time. I think I got them too tight and split the gasket.

Hammer the area around the holes flat before you install. You probably dimpled it. If you do it right, it won't leak. I did my 280SL years ago - still dry. I hate leaks

Thanks I'll check it for flattness, I actually bought a new pan last time so i should be able to get it nice and flat. I thought I was careful about the torque too, but here it is leaking again...My others have never leaked no matter what I did, this one loves to leak apparently

Transmission oil pan bolt torque

For those of you who don't know, while MB indicates the torque as being 8nm for the transmission pan, that translates to 6 ft-lbs or 71 in-lbs.

my 2007 tranny pan bolts have to be replaced each time the pan is dropped. They are a stretch bolt and only stretch once..
