94 C280 (Have code reader but no codes?)

Just received pulse code reader and CD, now attempting to pull codes from 94 C280.
Am getting a code 1 (no fault) on pins 4, 7, & 8 but nothing displays when attached to pins 17 or 19? I do feel resistance when inserting or removing connector from these pins so I'm fairly certain I have continuity. Unsure what I’m doing wrong or what to do next?

The engine monitor on that car is ODB2 ready...digital system. Try an ODB2 scan from inside the car if the check engine lamp is on.

Thanks for the reply M.B.Doc

I have a hand held obd II reader, that lists every c class model but mine, so all I get from it is ... I have attempted to have the codes read from various local shops (nearest MB dealer 40 miles away) but when they hear it's a 94 model they just blow me off... I'm just wondering is this model odb II enough to pull the engine codes if I tell these shops I have a 96 model? Or should i take a half day and go to the MB dealer? I really want to know why the check engine light is on.

thanks again for the advice

Check out this link . . . http://www.obdii.com/

Your car is not "fully" compliant to OBDII so maybe the scanner you have only works on OBDII cars.

Your model is fully OBDII compliant. I have a '94 and I pull codes from it with my hand-held code reader. I've used that same reader on numerous other OBDII compliant cars, both MB and non-MB.
