Gear Shift Cover
This is for a 1983 240D.
The gear shift cover has come loose. The wooden part of the console around the gear shift lever. How is it supposed to attach and what can I do to keep it in place? |

Tref,
I'm not sure what you mean but my '85 300CD's wood console attaches with screws behind the ashtray. After the screws come out, you pull the wooden console to the rear and lift it up. Takes a little finesse as switches are attached to the wood. Nic |

This sounds a little different. Mine does not have screws in the forward part of the wood piece. I believe that on mine there is a small lip under the ash try that the wood piece fits into, there is a finger like piece of plastic on the rear of the wood that fits into a hole in the console. I cannot figure out how it is supposed to be secured.
