Would like opinions on possible gearbox conversion

Hi everyone,

Well i own a 1990 190E 2.5-16 Auto.
Have had the car for years and have always maintained it to a very high standard.

I have always wanted a 5 speed manual getrag though

I have looked at cars for sale that are a manual but the problem is that they are in bad condition. I know where my car is at in terms of maintenance and i really do not want to buying something that needs work doing to it.

So im in a prediciment. Should i convert my car to a manual?
My main bones of contention are:

1. Losing originality (will the conversion have an impact on future sale value?)
2. Can i keep cruise control
3. VIN number mismatch

Everything on my car is completely standard. After driving my friends 2.5-16 manual it was a revelation.

I would love to hear some opinions on wether or not i should do this...
Many thanks guys...

Zak
