03 E500 (W211) airmatic compressor bracket issue?

Hi All,

I've been browsing this forum for quite some time now and now I have a question:

My car (03 E500 W211) currently develop a rumbling noise from the left front when driving over uneven road and after several visit at the local MB dealership with no help.

At the beginning they said the lower ball joint needs replacing and that was done (under major components warranty) and the next time they said it was the sway bar link (which was replaced at my cost) and the very latest visit they said the sway bar link ball joint (attached to the lower control arm) was worn and was replaced (at my cost again) but the noise issue was never resolved.

After doing lots of searching a very knowledgeable member on another MB forum pointed out it is very likely the airmatic compressor mount (bracket) MB use the revised part after certain serial number and mine was within the affected range and there was a service campaign on it P-B-32.22/32 Dated Aug16th2005.

I have schedule to have my car back to the dealership next week but my basic warranty is out already and if its not cover under the major components I will have to shell out more money again.

My question is anyone has some info (tech info / diagram etc) on how to access the air compressor?

If this is not a DIY's job will I able get my mechanic to replace the compressor bracket?

Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance and sorry for the long post!
