blew lots of white smoke!!!

i changed my alternator today so i flushed my radiator since i had to dissconect it anyway. everything went fine until i let the car warm up and took it for a ride around the block. i lot of white smoke was comming out of my exhaust but only for 2 blocks then it stoped and the car runs fine. temp is just over 80..idle oil pressure is 1.5.WHATS THE DEAL!?

Leaking head gasket is typical of white smoke.
Leave your radiator cap off, let the engine come up to temp ( thermostat open ) and see if you have bubbles in your water.
That would indicate gasket breach in the water jacket.
If the water looks oily could indicate breach oil to water jacket.

Deacon D--straight six head job should be $1100+ IF the head isn't warped... Find a good shop that will set you up with a 60 Day+ warranty... On my '91 300E, I also had to replace the radiator at an additional cost of over $150

Good Luck,

-GH

my wife was right about the cost! LOL Its not overheating or anything yet, but I need to get it done quickly before it starts affecting the cooling.
