Rear main seal 2.3 16v
When I pull the auto tranny and torque converter from my 1986 2.3 16v for a tranny swap, I am considering changing the rear main seal. I have never done this before...can anyone walk me through the process and let me know if I need any special tools. I have heard of guys putting them in without special tools. Is this possible on my 2.3 16v?
Thanks

Obviously the engine pan must be removed.
After that, no special tools are required, except a torque wrench for replacing the rear main bearing half after finishing. The last time I did this, I just used a small allen wrench to start rotating the seal out from the top of the bearing.
