alright I have searched the forum and have not been able to find what I am looking for.

My wife has a (R170) '02 SLK320 and I have been looking for a auto open/close system that can be used with a key fob.

I have seen them for the CLK, SL, and newer SLK (R171) that even use the exisiting key, which would be great but if I have to have another fob i can handle it, the other feature I like is that the top can be opened or closed up to 30mph but I have not been able to find one for the R170.

Are you talking about the roof, or am I missing something? Your car already has Radio Frequency Locking (RFL). Do you mean you want to operate the roof with the remote key? The R170 doesn't support that function.

As far as operating the Vario-Roof while driving, all factory systems cancel roof operation if wheel speed is detected. I've heard that some after-market systems allow this, but I'd never operate the roof while moving. You're just asking for trouble.

yes i am talking about the roof. I know there are aftermarket systems that are essentially plug-n-play for the newer chassis 171 as well as SL and CLK. They allow opperation of the roof from the key or one touch from the interior roof switch so you don't have to hold it. and they allow the roof to opperate below 30 mph. I don't want to operate the roof at high speeds just when i am in a parking lot and parking. My Porsche allows me to operate the roof up to 35 mph and that is factory. So the questions is has anyone seen these for the 170 chassis? i read somewhere that mercedes acctually had a dealer installed option that at least allows for remote open of top
