Fix your Mercedes Alarm

Just a note to all you that have had problems with your alarms going off for no reason or not arming. I found this on Ebay and it is cool since it was a replacement part since it has a manufacture date of 1992. It should work for all w201 124 and 126 cars. I just replaced mine with a used unit since a new OEM one is like $500 or more!
I know a few of you were asking how to fix the alarm not too long ago and some decided to just unplug it. I figure you cant go wrong at this price, I might pick it up as a spare if no one else does. NO, it is not my auction.

I thought most car alarm problems were to do with the lock cylinders and keys wearing and not completely arming or disarming.

There are really only two things I have seen go wrong with the alarms. THe lock cylinders that have the alarm triggers with them and the alarm module. Thankfully the last time I had an alarm issue it was a bad module, it is a super easy fix with a spare module and my alarm is right as rain. The last time it was a lock cylinder with a broken trigger tab, mechanism broke on from cylinder housing, the lock cylinder is no fun to pull and replace.

My '84 380SE alarm system doesn't work. It may be unplugged. Where does one look for the module and the plug?

It may be in front of the passenger floor...

There's a false panel in the front where the passenger parks their feet....

Pull down the carpeting and remove the small phillips head screw...it's the one on the bottom with 2 wiring plugs.

The one on my car had gotten wet so I resoldered it and it worked....

You may also want to check the wiring in the door...open the driver's door and/or passenger and there is a small black plug above the locking mechanism. Pull out the black plug and there will be 3 wires...check the connectors...mine were quite corroded....

Just my 2¢ worth....
