Pneumatics strike again?

Hello there,

Fellow (former) "Tampanian" here. I have the same problem with my 93 140 diesel. It's likely because the vacuum mechanism attached to the lock in the driver's door is leaking. The part is a bear to get to, but easy to fix--so much of a bear I haven't fixed it yet! The rear doors are much easier to fix; you very well may encounter the same problem there, too.

I use the excuse that the non-unlocking front door is an added security feature... Eventually I'll pay my indy to do the necessary surgery.

Damon

Listen for the hissing

Usually the telltale sign of a leaking pneumatic mechanism is the sound of escaping air. I could always hear it plain as day, but you might have to take the interior door panel off to hear a more subtle leak.
