2000 C230 Kompressor Windshield Wiper Question

Just bought this car. Checked out very well. Tried wiper yesterday during light rain and it operated very sluggishly, stopping and starting as it crossed the windshield. I read in manual about wiper getting blocked (for example due to snow). Weather here is not that cold (no snow) so dont think that was it. Any thoughts??? Thanks very much! Dave

Do a search on wipers, you'll find a thread about removing the black plastic cover and lubricating the mechanism. Also might try cleaning the windshield, and replacing the wiper blade. Mine came from Walmart, 24 inches I think.

What's the condition of your alternator? Sometimes under a full load such as lights, heater at full blast, heated seats, radio all on, the wipers become slow / sluggish. I've never seen it stop / start across the windshield under full load; just sluggish and slow. So perhaps your problem may be in the mechanism as the other posters have suggested.
