"You will need two or three different length bolts with the proper thread and a few different length spacers. The spacers must have a hole big enough for the head of the steel pin to go through it." The author did not specify the thread SIZE of the different length bolts. anyone know the size needed? Also, in reference to the spacers, where could one find those? Thanks, Husky

When I replaced the head gasket on my '93 190E 2.3, I used a spare Belt Tensioner adjusting bolt that I had on hand. I went to the hardware store and purchased a couple of nuts, ( I think they were 6mm). Then, with a nut screwed onto the bolt, along with a washer and a socket for a spacer, I screwed the bolt into the pin. I then proceeded to turn the nut clockwise and the pin came out into the inside of the socket.
Does this make any sense?
It worked perfect on both pins.
