This is on the 72 107 SLC, does anyone know about the rear suspension piece that goes in front of gas tank. It is a bar that is round until it goes into bushings on each side, then goes flat on both side, that flat bar then projects out near the inside of each wheels. I have a rubbing sound upon turning sometimes and it looks as if those pieces are rubbing the inside of my wheels. What are those, how do they operate and why and should they be able to pivot up and down a little? My shocks seem to be good, springs I do not know.
Please help. Thank you, Tim |

That is a anti-sway bar. You can order a kit that includes the bushings to prevent your problem.

Thanks for you reply, just learning about these autos. Are you able to tell me how this anti sway bar works, its only connection is to the frame then the arms move out to, but not connected to the wheels, and I am guessing that it should not move up and down. Principal behind the set up.
I have contacted Fastlane for the kit since I did not see it on the online catalogue. Thank you, Tim |

There are (or should be) "links" that connect the sway bar to the control arms (behind the wheels) near the calipers. If the bar is not connected... your "sway bar links" are missing.
