I like the old w123 280ce and 300cd models.
I would like to ammend my list to add that too! =) |
ohh well all of them have to be either black or silver. I wouldn't have it any other way.
If silver, black interior only. If black, black or cream interior only. Alon |
el presidente,
And what would YOU be driving... a '77 240D automatic with A/C, pulling a trailer, and with flat tires? That would be more your speed in corners! Sorry, folks... couldn't let that one go unanswered! Scott P. |
....touche....at least I gave you a coupe:D
|
Add me to the roll call.
I have an 89 M103 300CE with about 137,000 miles. Dark red with tan leather, fairly stock. I've had her for a little over two years now. This is my fifth Benz, first coupe. I replaced an 85 300D with this. What a difference! Always nice to surprise people with how much room is in the back (once they squeeze their way in). Love the power (especially after the diesels), love the pillarless windows, love the C-pillar from the W126c SEC, love the heavy steering, love the utter lack of squeaks and rattles, love the four-place seating, love that you don't see these every day. Not so fond of the leaks or the typically finicky climate control (low pressure switch developed a leak, then the blower motor died within weeks after fixing that). That reminds me. Really not fond of the 4-hour job to replace the blower motor, especially after experiencing the 15 minute job on a W123. :-( I commute about 30 miles each way to work, tend to achieve that in about 40 minutes (mix of 80mph and traffic lights), and get about 22mpg overall without using the A/C. Got just over 20 with A/C on. At least premium gas doesn't change price seasonally like diesel. Wish list, in no particular order: late 560SEC 91 300SL 5-speed 85 300CD R107 350SL favorite MB color combination: lapis blue with tan leather interior Other Benzes owned: 63 190c (not a coupe) with 4-speed on the column, "German BatMobile" 80 240D, "Cream Puff" 85 300D, glorious turbodiesel motor 95 C280, current ride for the wife, she drives the bejesus out of it but doesn't maintain it as well as she should Happy Benzing all! Thanks for your work compiling the list of W124 coupe lovers. I think we own one of the best cars ever made. I hope that we continue to stay in touch.

E320 Coupe Owner
Just came across this thread. Add me to the list. I have a 95 coupe with 64,000 on it. Got it last August, 2001; am the third owner. Will post photo in a couple of weeks. Great forum!

One more...with every option!
I have a 1990 300CE Black Pearl/Grey which was special ordered and delivered via the European Delivery Program. Its factory options include electric rear sunshade, orthopedic seats, heated seats and right passenger airbag. It has been maintained by the book (first service stamped in St. Gallen) with oil changes twice as frequent. I now have 141,000 miles.
At the time, after 3 W123 diesel sedans, I wanted something completely different (gas coupe)! I have enjoyed the car immensely...there's nothing more pleasurable than on a hot summer's night to lower all the windows, open the roof and go for a drive... Paul |
'90 300CE
Yet another '90 300CE Black Pearl/Grey 119k, all stock except 16" wheels and euro headlights. Still a baby to me as was purchased in 3/02. Previously owned W123 and W126 sedans.
Whats the best way to attach a .jpg? |
ok all you coupe owners. I want you to e-mail me a picture or pictures of your car, and a description of any mods you have done, and anything else you want to say about your car, for my new website, www.the300ce.com
Please send me this stuff, because I want to put it together on my site for all to see. Alon |
ok so i'll post pictures just as soon as i get my euro lights smoked corners as well as smoked tail lights in....
curious though.... i have the 92 300ce black on black, but the exterior is two tone...blk on top, gray on bottom....would it hurt the value of my car (on a collectable level) that is saying if these cars will ever be collector's items....would it hurt the value if i painted the gray black? so i had a completely black on black car? who does know the collectability of these beautiful machines? please post.... oh by the way i have 157K mi and i've taken her 115 mph on the freeway...and woah...she loves to be driven fast..no kiddin.... |
