Power not up to normal, Faulty acceleration
I own a 1981 380 SEL. This is my problem: The car was sitting for some time (supposedly in running condition before it sat idle)
The car wouldn't start, so I did some trouble shooting and found it had a faulty electric fuel pump. I R & R the fuel pump and the car starts just fine. Now we have the problem. With the timing all the way advanced, the car will start and idle just fine. Once I press the accelerator down to increase fuel and air mixture, the cars just bogs down and dies. I have replaced the fuel pump twice, checked the overvoltage protection relay, changed the fuel filter, spark plugs. Checked the idle control solenoid, frequency valve, and electronic control unit. Please Help!

no power
Did you check the mini filter in the fuel distributor. It should be at the input fuel line at the fuel distributor. Remove the fuel line and the remove the fitting that the fuel line connects to and there it a filter in there. If it is clogged just remove it.

I pulled the fuel line to the distributor but found no such filter.
I pulled the fittings as well. At the present moment, I'm chasing another lead. Im checking to see if I have a plugged catalytic converter. I should have it off this afternoon. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for your suggestion.
