99 s320 ecu question(i think)
Engine is missing on the number 6 cylinder. The injector is shutting down, so the shop thinks. Then they tell me it's not firing due to what they believe is a faulty ecu unit. I'm clueless. Sound reasonable? What should it cost? Should I get the car and take it to the dealer? Should I burn it and collect? Frustrated in Austin....

Ask if they have an MB laptop with SDS on it. If not, go somewhere that does.
They should not be guessing.

Getting it tomorrow, taking to a certified shop that has the equipment you mentioned. Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.

You probably figured it out already; SDS is Star Diagnostics system run from a MB laptop. It will give the tech real time data on the engine and show the dates the misses occured and a snap shot of what was going on at the time it happened.
