Wiring Harness on E420 (119.975) 1995

300EE320 did an excellent job with the DIY article describing, with many pictures, the replacement of the wiring harness in an E320.

In the reader's opinion (yours) - is the V8 - E420 much different?

This winter I purchased a project car (E420). It needs the new throttle actuator, and may need a new harness.

So how's the E420 - would it be similar in difficulty?

Many thanks. With the warmer weather coming - I'll be playing on weekends.

Not much different. Take pictures if in doubt. Throttle actuator removal, will result in a couple of busted vacuum lines, and a breather hose or two (check your engine, and you can guess which ones). Buy an extra gasket just in case.
Get the throttle actuator from a reputable rebuilder.
Does yours still have distributors?

It's considerably easier - roughly half the end points, and I'd say about half the time requirement.

Yup...8's are easier then 6's.

Beckman is the only rebuilder we'll use for TA's.

Could probably do blindfolded on the 2nd or 3rd one.
