400E Drivers side mirror handle broken - HELP
Well after getting the car back from the $1K timing chain noise ($13 oil pump valve seat "O" ring) the drivers side mirror adjustment handle was broken How do you prove they did it Anyway, it's the little pop-metal arm that connects the handle going to the guts of the mirror. No replacement part, you have to buy a whole new mirror body (insides) at $179
Does anyone know: 1. How to remove the mirror 2. How to get the outer housing off (painted part) 3. Where I can get a replacement cheaper than the dealer 4. Anyone have a spare Thanks > BOBB |

Suggest, e-mailing, calling or even better stopping by Silver Star Recycling, Ranch Cordova, CA. (silverstarrecycling.com)
They were really reasonably priced, friendly and professional when I stopped by for a part (even let me see the car, eye and choose my parts too (they dismantled and cleaned the part), however, on the phone prior to my visit- they were a tad less helpful (probably get tons of calls from all over). Even got an "exchange" warranty on the part (12 mos?) Good luck -fad |
