Angry Auxillary fan

Greetings,
I have been struggling with an overheating problem for the last 2 months, since it got hot here in PA. Blowing the fuse for the (auxillary fan, tach and I forget the other thing on the circut). I went out today after reading another persons post relating to the wiring for the auxillary fan. Our fan seems to be seized up. Would someone mind checking to see if the fan will spin freely without the engine on? I would imagine it should as every other electric motor does. I would appreciate anyones response as this may be the reason the fuse blows and I could solve our overheating problems.

Kyle

Fan spins freely (or should). Yours is fried at bushings or commutator if it doesn't. This may be a symptom rather than a cause of overheating (overuse to try to cool rad. leads to premature failure) or it could have seized first and now rad. with viscous fan coupling can't deal with summertime stop and go, A/C, slow speed driving, etc.

I took the fan out last night and man what a bear. Maybe it was cause it was so darn hot. Tight squeeze without removing the tranny rad. or front end. Anyway, the motor just needed some oil. Oiled it, cleaned the armature and now it runs like a top.
