Is it ok to drive e420 with Code 26

Hi,

Just a question for the experts is it ok to drive a 1994 E420 with code 26
Upshift delay 1 to 2 (model 123.034) , 2 to 3 (all models)

What are the potential consequences.

I have a trip comming up about 1000 miles, and I dont want to hurt this car.

Drive it ..is just means the shift delay is not working and that is just a cold running delay for cat warm-up below 50C.. Many guys just put a BB in the line anyeay..
If you are concerned with cat warmup, just hold the selector in low gear for first run..

I just got a code 26 on my '94 E420 after the CEL came on this morning. What do mean by "Many guys just put a BB in the line anyeay.." The warmup thing doesn't bother me, I just don't want the CEL to come back on after I sell the car.
