Glowing check engine light
On my 1995 E320, the first time the check engine light came on, my indie checked the fault codes and found it to be the EGR. Could be the tube, could be the valve, anyway, he reset it. Now it has come back on in the middle of the night when the car is off. Leaving for work the other day, I opened the door to find the check engine light on! When I started the car the ASR light stayed on, only to go out after a few miles down the road when I shut the engine off for a coffee stop and restarted it. What gives? Why would the light (check engine) stay on after the car is turned of? By the way, the harness was replaced on the car and the car has 63,000 miles.

Sounds like the DM (diagnostic module) is going bad.
