Whiter but is there more of it?
Don't be tricked by blue glass. I tried several types of blue bulbs and wound up chucking them in favor of Silver Stars.

Be careful. Those higher-wattage bulbs can fry your wiring harness!

Indeed. Dump the garbage DOT lights and go with the H4 equipped euro lights. 9004 and 9007 lamps simply can't make a good high beam pattern because of how they are designed. The better beam patters of the euro lights make an amazing difference.

why i tested stock/new amps was to verify that bulb drew less than 8 amp fuse,
im guessing alot of 'wiring harness' issues come down to crappy old bulb sockets, i had one go bad with stock bulb so replaced both (am replacing mb headlights with ebay crazy projector ones) and used dielectric grease on bulb pins when installing. i cant tell if the new bulbs are better or worse! the whiter light 'looks' different than yellow bulbs so im not used to it, may try some $50 piaa bulbs and see if they do better i also have 7000K bulbs coming stock watts from ebay, see if those are any more awesome. these were alleged 5000K. |

I think silverstars are a good compromise on color, brightness, and light per amp.
