Idle adjustment

Good morning,

I have a 1980 300SD. Sometimes, mostly at a stop light, it seems that the car vibrates excessively. If I depress the accelerator just a little bit, the idle rises, and the vibration disappears. Would it be all right to raise the idle adjustment? And if so, how do I do it on my engine?

Thanks,
Ray

I am not sure if the older model car uses the same motor mount design as the new car. If they are, then the vibration may be from the motor mount.

Thanks Jack,

You're right, bad motor mounts can produce excessive vibration, but I've checked mine and they're still thick and in great condition.
Appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Ray
