CLK 230K - Boot / Trunk lid will not open

Dear All,

I have a 1999 CLK 230 Kompressor Coupe.

The Problem:-
The boot/trunk lid does not open electronically or manually by using the key.

Can anyone suggest how I can rectify this problem.
