I am not much of a hands on guy ,but I inquired about the same installation proceeder for my 1992 300E. The switch to raise and lower the headlight for rear load adjustments has to be T-ed in to a vacuum source. Does your car have a vacuum gauge for MPG on the instrument cluster? You can T-into that vacumn source. in order for the swith to raise and lower the headlights.
If you PM off line I will look into my books on instructions I have on this. Or if you want ask Phil at fast lane he is the local expert and can help you get the right parts for your modification.
Hope it works out I am still not there yet.
