Slow Start '94 c280

It seems like I have to crank the 280 a bit to get it to start after it has been sitting. Like first start in the morning or after sitting for an hour or so. I have done some searches but can not find a difinitive reason. It almost sounds like a cam shaft positioning sensor but I am not sure. Anyone else fixed this? What was it and what do I need to do? Thanks for the help.

Do a search on OVP and then take yours out and see if it has been changed to the modified version part#...

The original OVP is 000-540-52-45..
If it is , change it to the new part # 000-540-67-45, regardless...........

Thanks for the reply. Checked the OVP - it is the new updated one. Pulled the 15amp fuse and cleaned off the terminals. Still a slow start. What should I check next, or what are the next couple of things to check? Thanks for the help.

You have to do a fuel pressure test...it is supposed to hold pressure after it is turn off...fuel test port is on the fuel rail.

No

You need a fuel pressure gauge.

Try this instead.

In the morning , or after a sit...turn the key to the run position for 10 secs before starter engagemant and see if that is better..if yes, then you have a possible fuel flow or check valve problem

Well it seemed as though it did start fasterthan usual. I have noticed that if I give it some fuel while cranking it will start faster. Where is the check valve located? I would like to rule out the small things first. Also where is a good place to purchase a fuel pressure gauge? Thanks.

Changed the fuel filter, so far so good. Started up right away. Let it sit awhile and she fired right up. I'll see what happens in the morning.
