s500 won't start

Got home last night during big lightining storm and noticed my parked 2000 s500 all rear lights were on (reverse, parking, & brake) won't go off even after disconnecting battery, tried to start after recharching battery and would crank but not start, also all of dash lights up but not the multifunction display area(nothing displays there) I'm thinking something got fried, where to check first?

I have a 2001 S500. Can not explain your rear light problem. However I do know that if you disconnect the battery without plugging in a reserve(or backup) battery device into the cigarette lighter, you will have to have a dealer or mechaninc with knowhow to reprogram your assessories back into the car's computor. Ie navigation, cd player, etc etc.

Do a search on my series of mishaps a while back with my S500. Search "S500 home at last ". Maybe something might click for you.
Good luck.

what?

nothing special is needed after disconnecting the battery. renormalize the windows, sunroof and put in the radio code and you're good to go.

So the S500 is parked outside? pop the hood and check the reed valve (drain) near where your blower motor intake is. if its clogged, water probably filled up that area and flowed inside the car where it fried your rear SAM.

Well found my problem water did leak into car and got back to fuse and relay box location under rear seat, put a dehumidifier in the back, after trying to vacuum out as much water as I could, hopefully after everthing dries things will go back to normal or I may be in for a hurting at the dealor. Does anyone know if there is a plug hole underneath the car in the vicinity of the fuse box area, there is a plastic covering there, don't want to take it off unless I know there is one there. thanks

John
