A split axle boot can make that sound.. happened to me on a trip to FL.

you can call the 800 number and they will get car and daughter to closest dealer

Get Real...it is a mechanical device.

If the Techs could see a FUTURE problem coming on an apparently OK part, they would be working for NASA.

Always someone elses fault.

Its a shame that so much of society knows so little about the real world. We evolve into a world of paper pushers without a clue.

I'm building some built in bookshelves today and have been thinking about this.

This man is correct. The mechanics are at fault. I think he should sue them, the dealership, and whom ever else wrenched on the damn thing. Who or what kind of shop/ dealership worth their salt, in their right frame of mind would allow a 20 some year old car out of their shop/ dealership without first changing or replacing any and every component that is more than 6 months to 1 year old? Geeez, The nerve of these places...dadgum rubber mounted, bolted in place piece of concoctions. Who engineered these damn things anyway??

Anyway I bet it works out the way it is suppose to.

I had done a Tune-up [ remember them??] on a guys vehicle years ago and the next morning it "refused " to start...the guy called my shop yelling and screaming, called me names , threatened to call the Better Business Bureau, etc if I didn't get over there and fix 'THE DAMN THING RIGHT !!!!! " ..
So, we made the Road Service call , popped the hood and kindly let him know someone had stolen his Battery...........

If they just worked on the differential, tell your daughter to look at it and see if it is wet. If it was not sealed correctly the grease could have leaked out... just my $.50
