p0715 + limp mode changed electrics

I had code p0715, After reading all over i changed the electrics (trans plate) my 13 pin connector was leaking, car in limp mode. Now i have the same code. I had the battery disconnected all day. Do I need the etc reset or should it reset itself. It is still in limp mode with the same p0715 code. Is there something I could have done wrong or not done to cause this? The repair was pretty straight forward.

That code is an OBDII code, you will have underlying trans codes that only SDS or similar quality sacnner can read. They must be erased before trans will work.

So, will the trans codes that are stored will cause the odbII p0715 code to pop back up until the etc is reset? If I leave the battery off for a few minutes the odbII code goes away for a minute then comes back making me think something is still wrong. I just don't want to drive to a dealer to find out that I have to drive back at 15 mph to repair something else.

The trans can't work until the orig codes (the ones you can't view) are cleared using SDS. It'll remian in limp mode until then. Afterwards you'll find out if it was repaired properly, or not.

Disconnecting the battery will not clear codes for a 722.6 transmissison, clear codes with a MB compatible scanner
