Will an 88 300TE AC have to be converted to R-134?
Looking at buying this car, but the AC is not charged. I've read about converting to the new style refrigerant but is this mandatory or can the old style still be serviced and refilled (assuming that is it's only problem)?

The old refrigerant is very available. It can be bought for about $15 a pound which is not bad. Roughly twice the price of R134. It performs much better than a converted system. If it was my decision I would not change.
