I have a new (to me) w124 '91 E300 with only about 85k miles on it and I already want to swap the transmission to manual. Only problem is, I don't know where exactly to start. I've tried to read about the subject on forums, but I'm still somewhat in the dark.

Questions:

What would be a good donor transmission and how would I get it?

What steps do I have to go through?
